As a Technology & Global Affairs Research Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience using cutting-edge tools and leveraging AI technology to conduct and inform research in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. This internship is designed for individuals who thrive on learning, problem-solving, and connecting ideas across disciplines. Exceptional performance during the internship may lead to consideration for full-time opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent and team-based research on emerging technologies, and cyber trends.
  • Apply analytical and technical reasoning to evaluate data, identify patterns, and build insights using AI and LLM-based tools. 
  • Contribute to case studies exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming online information environments and social media engagement. 
  • Analyze digital discourse, behavior, and influence across platforms using custom analytic tools and data visualization methods. 
  • Develop clear, insightful written deliverables and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on research design, data interpretation, and report development. 
  • Support business development initiatives through market research, capability briefs, and strategic analysis. 
  • Stay current on technology trends, security issues, and global events related to AI, cybersecurity, and online ecosystems. 

Qualifications

  • Senior undergraduate or graduate student with a background in a technical, analytical, or interdisciplinary field, such as: 
  • Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or Engineering 
  • International Relations, Political Science, or Media Studies 
  • Public Policy, Statistics, or related quantitative/social science disciplines 
  • Strong research, writing, and critical thinking skills (writing sample required). 
  • Demonstrated curiosity about global affairs, emerging technologies, and digital media. 
  • Proven reliability, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. 
  • Familiarity with current events, social media ecosystems, and web-based technologies. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Proficiency in a foreign language (e.g., Arabic, Chinese, or Russian). 
  • Coursework or experience in AI, machine learning, or data analysis. 
  • Experience using visualization, automation, or coding tools (e.g., Cursor AI, Python, R, SQL, or JavaScript) is a plus.
